Who we are

TypeWright is provided by Peter Szilagyi, 26 Etele ut, Budapest 1119, Hungary ("we," "us," or "our"). This policy explains how TypeWright and the TypeWright website handle information.

Product analytics

The app uses Mixpanel to understand feature usage and improve the product. In release versions, it sends events for:

• Onboarding progress.
• Project and file actions, such as creating, opening, importing, moving, renaming, or deleting an item.
• Document compilation and export, including compile mode and counts of warnings or diagnostics.
• Typst package downloads or download failures, including the public package identifier and version, failure reason, and package file count.
• Editor settings, including the selected theme.
• Feature actions such as importing a font or image, saving project settings, or clearing the package cache.

These events may include the file extension, item type (file or folder), counts, and action destination. They do not include document contents, PDF contents, file or project names, full file paths, imported image or font contents, email address, Apple ID, or precise location.

Mixpanel may also receive pseudonymous identifiers and standard technical information supplied by its SDK or the device, such as an app/device identifier, IP address, device and operating-system information, app version, language, and event time. We use this information for aggregate product analytics, not advertising, profiling for advertising, or cross-app tracking.

iCloud Drive

TypeWright stores projects, project settings, imported fonts and images, and recent-project metadata in the user's iCloud Drive container so they can sync across the user's Apple devices. This information is stored with Apple, not on our servers. Apple processes iCloud data under the Apple Privacy Policy.

Recent-project metadata includes project folder names, file paths relative to the project, and the time a file was opened. It is used only for the app's Recents and resume features and syncs through iCloud.

Typst package downloads

When a document requests a Typst package that is not already cached on the device, the app downloads it from packages.typst.org. That request necessarily discloses the requested package address and ordinary connection information, such as IP address, to the package host. Package archives are cached locally on the device.

How we use and share information

We use analytics data to understand feature usage, diagnose product issues, and improve TypeWright. We share data only with the service providers needed to provide these functions:

• Mixpanel processes product analytics on our behalf. Its handling of information is described in the Mixpanel Privacy Notice.
• Apple provides iCloud Drive storage and may process App Store and StoreKit activity under its own terms and privacy policy.
• Typst Universe receives package-download requests when a remote package is used.

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use the Apple advertising identifier, request App Tracking Transparency permission, or use advertising cookies in the app.

The website

The TypeWright website does not use advertising or website analytics cookies. It does not intentionally collect personal information unless you choose to contact us by email. As with most websites, hosting providers may process standard server logs, such as IP address, browser information, and request time, to operate and secure the site.

Data choices and requests

You can manage or delete projects and other iCloud-synced content from TypeWright, the Files app, or iCloud Drive, subject to Apple's synchronization and retention practices. You can delete local cached Typst packages from TypeWright's Settings.

Children

TypeWright is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app or its data practices change. We will post the updated policy here and revise the effective date.
